Disclaimer: Agricultural and horticultural organizations incorporate before 1990 may not have articles of incorporation or a certificate of incorporation issued by OMAFRA. For nonprofits without articles of incorporation, it is not yet clear how provisions required by ONCA to be put in the articles apply to them. We are looking into the matter and will provide updates as we learn more.

Checklist for Districts to submit information to the OAAS_Oct 2023

OAAS Meeting Schedule (subject to change)

After receiving some queries, this letter has been updated to reflect the information required when requesting a Police Records Check.
We have added a line to indicate the Agricultural Society or District you are volunteering with and clarify the line regarding your position title.
IMPORTANT:  If you are completing a VSC, we have added a line to enable you to provide a description of your responsibilities towards children/youth and vulnerable persons.
NOTE most of you will only require the Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC), not the Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
NOTE A completed copy of this form(OAAS Letter) must be submitted with your Police Records Check application. Once you complete the attached OAAS letter, you must save it on your computer or laptop, and when you fill out the application online, it asks you to attach it. (if you are doing this application in person, you must print it out to take you).

Most Police Records checks can be completed online now. You should check with your local police Force for more information. If you are under OPP, here is the link https://www.opp.ca/index.php?id=147
